Sebastian Vettel has expressed his support for his former rival, saying that if anyone could pull Ferrari out of its long-term slump, it would be Lewis Hamilton.
Despite this, he still supports him, even though Hamilton once prevented him from fully developing his potential at Scuderia Ferrari. But Vettel is not bothered by this:
"It's true that I didn't succeed because Lewis had a better package with Mercedes at the time. We'll see how he manages to work with Ferrari, but I support him with all my heart. We fought a lot together, we became good friends over the years, I don't have to prove his skills and the time invested to anyone. He is the most honest driver in current Formula 1, his results and records speak for themselves, and he always uses his influence for positive purposes, so it's nice that he is still part of the peloton. I really support him to win the championship, but it won't be easy for him. There is Charles Leclerc, who is very talented, they are both a very strong pair, but it's not just up to them to have a chance at the championship when we get to the last race. Let's hope it's close, everyone would only benefit from it." - Sebastian Vettel mused.
