Despite his defeat at the weekend, Max Verstappen really likes what Oscar Piastra is doing. Maybe he sees a bit of himself in this story.
McLaren has clearly been very heavily involved in the fight for the individual world title this year, but while everyone expects it from Lando Norris, it is possible that in the end it will be the grieving third who comes out on top. This is also seen and known by the current champion Max Verstappen, who spoke about his greatest rival unusually frankly, without any psychological games - we can now say - directly:
"Oscar is performing amazingly. Many tend to forget, but it's worth remembering: 2024 was only his second season, 2025 his third, and he's still very strong. He's calm when he needs to be, he's exceptional when he needs to be, he almost never makes mistakes. That's exactly how it should be done if your goal is the championship title!"
