The US Grand Prix continued on Friday into Saturday morning with sprint qualifying, where Max Verstappen emerged as the fastest.
In SQ1 we saw 12 minutes without stopping, during which the front was constantly changing. Max Verstappen, Kevin Magnussen, Lewis Hamilton and others were giving each other a hand. In the end, this stage was won by Charles Leclerc, who overtook the aforementioned Hamilton and Verstappen, while Oscar Piasti, Esteban Ocon, Alexander Albon and, as usual, both Alfa Romeo drivers were surprisingly eliminated.
In SQ2, the picture of the game did not change much: Ferrari finished in the lead, this time Carlos Sainz was the fastest, followed by Verstappen and Hamilton. Of the dropouts, two names were most noteworthy, namely Sergio Perez and Liam Lawson. While the first is struggling with a tragic performance in a car capable of winning the world championship, the second, after many absences in VISA RB, easily achieves this performance... And by the way, two Aston Martin drivers and Pierre Gasly also said goodbye.
In SQ3 it looked like George Russell could be the winner for a long time, and only his teammate Hamilton or some Ferrari could threaten him. In the end, it wasn't like that, Max Verstappen found some extra time somewhere and won the sprint time trial ahead of George Russell and Charles Leclerc!
