As expected, there was a real frenzy surrounding Lewis Hamilton's first appearance at Maranello - although the seven-time world champion has not yet sat in the car. He will do so on Wednesday, but the fans don't care, they are already in place, there is not a single spare room nearby.
Of course, Scuderia Ferrari also announced the big day, which gives us a detailed look at the new addition's program:
"Lewis arrived at our Maranello headquarters in the morning and was shown around. From there, the journey took him to the Fiorano circuit, where he saw Enzo Ferrari's house and met Frederic Vasseur and Benedetto Vignotto in the square named after another seven-time world champion, Michael Schumacher. This was also where the usual first photos with Lewis's favourite Ferrari, the F40, took place.
They then toured Enzo Ferrari's home, including the famous office from which the founder oversaw the affairs of his team. Hamilton then returned to HQ, where he met with management, and spent the rest of the day carrying out a comprehensive, in-depth programme with Pietro Ferrari.
"He visited various departments, got to know the team, and had a seat test. Tomorrow, work will move to technical meetings, which will begin the real preparation for the challenging season that awaits us," said the Ferrari press office.
