George Russell always believed that on the other side of the Mercedes box was the best driver in the world, against whom, if he could prove it, he could one day win the world title.
Now Russell is here to make that promise a reality. He's consistently beaten Lewis Hamilton for the team over the past two seasons, so in theory all he needs is a competitive technique to complete his mission:
"I am fully aware of the role the team has given me as a more experienced driver. In 2025, there are a lot of great young drivers coming into Formula 1, and it is at times like these that you realise that - although you are not old - you are not young anymore. My career has entered a new chapter after the first phase has been completed, I am moving on to the next one. When Lewis Hamilton started winning world titles without stopping, he was already older than me, and now it is up to me to follow his example. I feel that I am going in the right direction, I am ready to take on the role that has been given to me. The main thing is to be as fast as possible, and I feel that way." - said George Russell about his goals.
Can you imagine Russell as a world champion?
