An unprecedented number of visitors are expected in Fiorano for Lewis Hamilton's first test with Ferrari. According to one journalist, the Italian police are worried because they believe this situation poses a serious security risk...
Journalist Roberto Chinchero spoke on an F1 podcast about preparing for incredibly turbulent scenes in Maranello and Fiorentina. Chinchero is probably not talking nonsense, as the homegrown man knows the temperament of the Tifosi and the Italian nation in general. He is not alone in his concerns:
"From the very first moments, Scuderia Ferrari fans in Italy have been impatiently waiting for the moment when Lewis Hamilton will sit in the red car. I can't even imagine what awaits us in Maranello and Fiorano. There will be an incredible number of people on the streets, which in a sense also hides a security risk. The local police are not calm, which I completely understand, it will be a big task for them. Of course, it's not surprising, the press has also done a lot for this, and not only motoring magazines.
"The mainstream media is constantly obsessed with Hamilton, which has skyrocketed interest..." - said Chinchero.
