Few barks, accidents, red flag interruptions, George Russell's success. In short, that's what happened during the first practice run for the Mexican Grand Prix.
The 400th race weekend was already watched by Fernando Alonso, who had already recovered, but still only from the pits, along with five young drivers. Oliver Bearman from the Scuderia Ferrari team, Robert Schwartzman from Staken, Felipe Drugovich from Aston Martin, Patricio O'Ward from McLaren and Andrea Kimi Antonelli from Mercedes were able to get back into the car. Barely had the lap started when a red flag was declared due to obstacles on the track. Antonelli managed to cross it, the young Italian was lucky that the car was not damaged. As soon as the session resumed, it had to be interrupted again, this time Bearman and Alexander Albon did not agree, which resulted in a serious accident. Albon even stopped his car, but the Ferrari also got a good deal. And what else happened during practice? Nothing really special, George Russell won this stage ahead of Carlos Sainz and Yuki Tsunoda.
