The Mexican Grand Prix continued with a special stage, in the second stage the field could observe the Pirelli compounds for 2025. We did not avoid the red flag this time either, this time George Russell crashed the Mercedes.
As soon as the free practice session started, Russell lost control of the car on the exit of a corner and had a serious accident. At that time, we had no idea that this would be the most exciting moment of the training session and we also had no idea that we would be worried about Russell's health, who later complained of rib pain. This was exactly the situation, while the Pirelli tire test was monotonously, boringly and quietly going on, during which the drivers used unmarked tires. So we really didn't know who was using which compound, the most we could guess was from the time results. Only at the end of the training session did some medium tires appear here and there, only those who did not participate in FP1 could afford that, but that did not change the overall picture. FP2 was eventually won by Carlos Sainz ahead of Oscar Piastre and Yuki Tsunoda, but today we did not learn anything new about the power ratios.
