While all existing Formula 1 portals are wagging their tails this week as Lewis Hamilton FAN SITE, Helmut Marko has once again come, seen and said lap!
According to the great Red Bull Racing veteran, it is clear as day that in the current F1 field, Max Verstappen is clearly the best, Lewis Hamilton is far from him:
"Let's look at 2024. Our car was not able to win several times, in these moments Max was the plus that was needed to succeed. He became world champion because he can simply find 0.1-0.2 tenths of a second in places where no one else could. Yes, not even Lewis Hamilton! Maybe he is still fast, but can he keep up with Max for the whole season? I doubt it. If he gets a great Ferrari and we are only able to provide an average Red Bull under Max, he will still be the last winner of the pair. So Max Verstappen will do his job, now it's up to us to give him a car with which he can win not only occasionally, but constantly.
"Unfortunately, it didn't work last season. There were times when we were fastest, but a week later there was nothing left of that speed. We need to expand the operating range of the car, we are working on that," Helmut Marko provided an insight into future plans.
