Charles Leclerc performed excellently in the first two practice sessions of the year, first in third place, but for the second time as the fastest driver. And he did so with real determination.
Because in FP2 he managed to overtake both McLaren drivers, and that's never a bad recommendation if you finish ahead of the secret favorite. Leclerc doesn't brag about it much, but...
"It was very good. We prepared for the second free practice session perfectly because the car handles very well, it felt like it gave maximum performance. Of course, there are things we still need to work on and improve, for example I'm not completely satisfied with the balance, but in any case we are much better than in Bahrain, in the tests. I would like not to get carried away, but after a day like this I'm really looking forward to tomorrow and trying to get pole position!"
At the same time, it is important to emphasize that we still have not seen the real performance of the others. Some hide more, others less, but McLaren will definitely be on top. We see Red Bull suffering at the moment, but they are Red Bull Racing, you never know... Especially with Max Verstappen, who it would be a very big mistake to underestimate at any time, I am sure they will be tough opponents, as well as Mercedes. We have an exciting day ahead of us!” - declared Charles Leclerc with gentle confidence.
