Honda has left Formula 1 without really leaving anywhere and will soon launch another project, this time with Aston Martin Racing. So of course they will have a say in who the Greens choose for their cars...
Koji Watanabe, head of Honda Racing Corporation, confirmed this and also hinted at who the favorites might be:
"There are still more drivers coming, but the number of places is limited. We, as a production team, will continue to play a significant role and influence on who the drivers will be who will drive our car in the project we are carrying out together with Aston Martin. Whoever our driver is, we plan with them for the long term. We have our candidates and we know both of them very well.
"The team will have the final say, but the basic configuration is the same as now at Red Bull. We will have a serious influence on cardinal issues. I would also like to emphasize that we are very happy to be working with Adrian Newey again, we will do everything to be competitive," said the boss, who knows both of them (meaning Max Verstappen and Yuki Tsunoda) very well.
