We all remember the chaos of last year's Brazilian Grand Prix, the delayed qualifying, the accidents. Well, it all had consequences...
Therefore, a new rule regarding F1 qualifying was introduced. Regarding the quality that we have already discussed, the biggest debate was about how and on what basis the starting order would be determined if qualifying could not be held.
The reaction to what we saw last year is already here, and this is reflected in the fact that if a similar situation were to arise from 2025, that is, if a situation were to arise where it is not possible to organize qualifying, the rule is that the pilots will start according to the status of the individual world championship points.
And what if all this happens at the first race of the year, when the world championship points standings are not yet known? Well, then there is a possibility that the starting order will be determined by the FIA stewards. How they will do it and on what guidelines is not yet known, but perhaps it goes without saying that this decision will create incredible discussions…
