According to Italian press reports, Hamilton took to the track at around 11am during the closed test, where he quickly lost control of the SF-23 and hit a wall. The driver was not injured in the accident in the third sector of the track, but the car was: the suspension and some aerodynamic elements were seriously damaged. The biggest victim of the crash is Charles Leclerc, who will be able to continue testing with a long delay due to the necessary repairs. If he can continue at all...
The team, led by Jerome D'Ambrosio, is currently examining telemetry data to determine what may have happened. Hamilton's testing program has of course ended following the incident.
