Hamilton: "I've never turned around..."

Hamilton: „Ja ešte nikdy som sa neotočil…”

Lewis Hamilton says he was unable to turn due to a driver error on the first lap of the US Grand Prix. The seven-time world champion attributes his absence to a technical fault.

After the race, Hamilton was furious and asked the team for a more thorough review. Not only did the development features not work, but the car was even worse than before the four-week break:

"I had a similar situation in the first free practice when I spun in turn three. That's very rare, I've never spun on this track before. You could see George Russell struggling with it on Saturday too, but he went back to the older spec, so the problem could be the new development package. The car is constantly bouncing, so if I don't spin in turn three, or not on that lap, it would happen in another turn or on another occasion. Something was wrong with the car, I've been suffering all weekend. I've never spun in a race in my life. It wasn't because of a lack of concentration, it was because the technique wasn't good. It's disappointing, but it is what it is, I'd rather focus on getting back in the car on Friday," Hamilton lamented.
