There is consensus in the paddock that one of the most important elements for 2026 is the development of power units, in which Mercedes, which has a lot of experience in this area, is leading. Pierre Gasly is well aware of this, as is the fact that if someone achieves exceptional results in the power unit area, they can have a good chance of ultimate success. And from 2026, Mercedes will be the engine supplier for Alpine.
"I'm very curious to see what happens because 2026 will be a huge opportunity for me to win the World Championship. That's why I'm really preparing for next year. It's not that I have any illusions, in 2025 I'll do everything I can to be successful, but where I end up this year is not really important, nor do I care. The team and I are aware of what we can achieve this year and what we can achieve next year, and that's why we have set a strategy that we are working towards. As I said at the London presentation, if I had to decide, at this moment I would focus all our people and all our resources on the 2026 program. Next year we want to fight for podiums and victories, that's our goal!" - declared the Frenchman firmly.
