Loic Serra has joined Scuderia Ferrari and it is said that they will soon feel and see the results. The Ferrari code 677 will be a completely new design and in theory should be much stronger at one-off pace.
Serra has a wealth of experience in vehicle dynamics, which he is looking to bring to the red 2025 model. It is said that the most significant changes will be to the suspension, torsion bars and shock absorbers, with the aim of making the 677 able to make the most of the new Pirelli tyres in the highest possible operating range. Reducing overheating and allowing better tyre handling for stronger single-stage performance. That is the aim.
The 2024 car, the SF-24, had a good relationship with the tyres in the race, but during qualifying the drivers often struggled with grip and a difficult warm-up. This often resulted in Scuderia Ferrari only being able to start from the back of the grid, even though they had the power to move up, and this is an issue that the team led by Loic Serra is now focusing on. The changes included in the 677's design are aimed at rewriting the Ferrari's basic behaviour and signs of this should be visible at the first control test, which will take place in Fiorano on 19 February.
