Brazilian Grand Prix: Incredible victory for Verstappen

Brazilská Grand Prix: Neuveriteľné víťazstvo Verstappena

Tamás Jancsovics |

Horrible chaos, Lando Norris' hellish journey, Max Verstappen's resurrection, a little taste of Alpine. This is what the chronicle of the Brazilian Grand Prix looks like.

The Brazilian Grand Prix had not even started yet and we could already document the first dropout: Lance Stroll gave up his Aston Martin on the exit lap and buried himself in the gravel. For him, the race was over... The second "first" start was best handled by George Russell, who immediately took the lead from Lando Norris. The field was relatively clean, only Sergio Pérez managed to spin, which dropped him to last place. Meanwhile, in the second Red Bull, Max Verstappen made a very strong comeback and after just a few laps he was ahead of Oscar Piastri in seventh place. Franco Colapinto and Oliver Bearman also showed off, overtaking the suffering Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time world champion was clearly suffering, he could not find harmony with his car and was moving slowly at the back of the field. Just as the race was starting to level out, an extreme amount of water fell on the track, which is why the safety car phase was declared.

Before that, several more drivers visited the pits, including Collapint, who, however, seriously damaged the Williams on his exit lap. A red flag followed, a long wait, and then a flying start... During this, Esteban Ocon maintained the leading position, but Lando Norris in the background lost a lot due to a spin. In the meantime, Bearman hit the wall, but everything happened in a good place, so the race could continue without problems. Ocon's lead was still increasing, but Carlos Sainz came, crashed and the safety car came out again. Verstappen had already managed the new restart better and took the lead. And since Norris made a huge mistake, he practically offered his rival an opportunity on a silver platter...

The next twenty laps went like this, Verstappen and the two Alpines on the podium, battles at the back in the field, Norris "nowhere". Nothing dramatic happened in the remaining time, Max Verstappen won the Brazilian Grand Prix with a huge effort and a huge lead over Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly. And in doing so, he probably won another championship title.
