Guanyu Zhou's performance has been almost zero lately, the Chinese racer has not shown any qualities that can generally be considered characteristics of F1-level drivers. Valtteri Bottas' light has long since gone out, the Finn may have broken a little, so the Stake judges' move is completely understandable.
"Based on our honest and open discussions with Guanyu Zhou and Valtteri Bottas, we have come to the conclusion that working together can no longer continue, the conditions are not met, and so we have come to the conclusion that our paths will diverge. At the same time, we would like to emphasize that we both deserve a big thank you for what they have done for the team over the past three years. They are true professionals who face success and defeat with their heads held high, and who, with their experience and enthusiasm, have significantly supported the team to become stronger and more competitive." - the team's statement reads.
So two Formula 1 careers have quietly ended, as we don't see much chance of these names ever standing on the grid again in the future.
