The head of Honda Racing Corporation believes that Adrian Newey's involvement with Aston Martin means that together they will build the best car on the track. Koji Watanabe claims that with Newey's arrival they can repeat, or even surpass, the achievements of Red Bull Racing, which would make them the best team in the world.

It’s really gratifying to see the amount of investment in infrastructure and people, like the modern wind tunnel and the headquarters, or the involvement of Adrian Newey. I know Adrian, we’ve worked together before, and he’s driven by an incredible passion, he wants to build fast cars. When they’re working on the body and we’re working on the engine, there’s definitely going to be some friction, we have to be prepared for that. But if we can overcome that and work it out, we’ll build the best car in the world. And if that happens, we’ll be the best team in the world!”
