The motorsport world ranking discussed the transformation of the existing points system.
The plan was to fundamentally intervene in the system, but in the end they rejected it. Instead, they will cancel the extra points system. It was introduced in 2019 for those drivers who finished in the top ten and set the fastest lap. It will no longer be there from 2025. At the beginning of the season, there was talk that instead of the current top 10, points would be awarded to positions 1-12 in the future.
This was ultimately rejected after current negotiations, and apart from the aforementioned change, the existing system remains in force.
